Adding Modifiers to Products
Following the steps in this article you will be able to add modifiers to your products and pull them into LoyLap Ordering
Add modifiers and their modifier groups
Use the Inventory app to add modifiers and their modifier groups.
To add a set of modifiers and its modifier group on the Web Dashboard:
- On a web browser, log in to the Clover Web Dashboard.
- Click Inventory > Modifier Groups.
- Click Add New Modifier Group.
- Enter a modifier group name, for example, Steak Cooking Temperature.
- Add the first modifier. Servers see the names of modifiers when they enter orders.
- Modifier Name: Enter a name for this modifier, for example, rare for one of the steak cooking temperatures. This modifier has no price with it. Another example might be onions for burger toppings. This modifier might have a price with it, if you are charging extra money for burger toppings.
- Alternate Name: If you are showing alternate names, you can enter one here. You can find out more about alternate names when you add new items.
- Price: If you want to charge different prices for each modifier, add the price.
- Click Add to Group. You can then set additional modifiers, for example, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well for a Steak Cooking Temperature modifier group. Each modifier you add offers one more choice to the server.
- Add items to this modifier group: From the Items drop-down list, select the checkbox for each item you want to add.
- Define what servers see when they take an order:
- Min required: From the drop-down list, choose the minimum number of modifiers the server should select. For the steak cooking temperature example, you'll want the server to select only one cooking temperature to send the order to the kitchen, so you'll choose Min = 1. For burger toppings, choose Min = 0 to give customers the option of ordering a burger with no toppings.
- Max allowed: From the drop-down list, choose the maximum number of modifiers the server should be able to select. For the steak cooking temperature example, choose Max = 1. For burger toppings, you'll want to set the maximum to the total number of toppings being offered. If you want to offer five toppings, choose Max = 5.
- Pop-up: Check this box to always show all available modifiers when servers take customer orders for items in this modifier group.
- Click Save.
