Payment Gateways

Information relating to all of the Pyament Gateways we integrate with

What is a payment gateway?

A payment gateway is a transaction processing technology that captures, stores, and transmits card information from the customer to the acquirer. It then shares the payment acceptance or decline notification back to the customer. In other words, the payment gateway works as the middleman between a customer and the merchant. By acting as an interface between a merchant’s website and their acquirer, an online payment gateway can simplify how merchants process card payments.

A payment gateway protects the customer’s sensitive payment data, as it relays it from the merchant to the acquirer and then the issuer using data encryption. The gateway follows several strict procedures for securing data that are defined by the PCI-DSS compliance standard, which also includes annual audits and recertifications to ensure the standard's validity.

How to Connect a Stripe Account

Login to the LoyLap.com page and go to ‘Settings’ & ‘Payments’

From there choose the connect option with Stripe

This will open a page prompting for an email address. This should be input by the business owner. If they already have a stripe account, inputting the existing email & password will log them into their account and just follow the steps to complete the connection.

For a new account a 2FA method will need to be set, like SMS or Authenticator app. Once set business details need to be entered.

Once input this should be the account up and running. There will be some additional steps Stripe will need to complete to validate the bank account as well as relevant KYC checks. Further information can be found here.

Clover ECommerce

Currently this is only Available in the US & Canada, the option to connect this on UK & EU accounts will not appear on their LoyLap dashboard.

To being the merchant will need to log into their Clover Dashboard and download the Ecommerce connector app. This app is completely free and is best to install from the More Tools section within the Dashboard.

Once downloaded it is best to get the merchant to navigate back to LoyLap.com and go to ‘Settings’ & ‘Payments’

From there choose the connect option with Clover Ecommerce.

This should then direct them to enter the details of their Clover account, once entered the connection should be established. They can confirm this is the case by opening the Ecommerce Connector from their Dashboard.

The account is connected to the same MID as the Clover device. As such payments & refunds will be charged at the same rates and deposited into the same connected bank account with their Merchant services. These rates would have been agreed when they set up the account and can vary across different providers.
