Building DT60 scanners

Following this guide will assist you in putting together your DT60 to allows for more efficient transaction processing at the POS

Building an NFC/QR scanner (DT60)

  • For this project you will need a philips head screwdriver and 4 x countersunk screws sized 3.0 x 12mm

  • These will be found and must be left here when finished

  • Find a formatted scanner (look for a tick marked in marker on the box) and unbox, unplug the power source

  • Find a scanner case (top and bottom) - be mindful to find the correct branding (Facilipay or LoyLap)

  • Remove the rubber feet from the scanner and keep safe (you will use these later)

  • Fit the scanner snug into the casing with the power cord in place and the face snug to the outer edge

  • LIne up the base plate foot rest with the bottom of the scanner (this wedge will hold the scanner up inside the casing) and with the screw indents facing out (so the screw heads will be flush with the base)

  • Fit the screws into the base

  • Stick the rubber feet over the screws (acting as a beauty cap)

  • Plug in your power source and your scanner build is finished

Troubleshooting - if you cannot find a formatted scanner, you can format a scanner yourself by doing the following -

  • You’ll need a scanner and a computer connected to the web
  • Open a scanner and plug it into a power source
  • Open the following online document on your computer - https://support.loylap.com/setting-up-your-dt-60-scanner
  • Use the scanner to scan each of these QR codes, one at a time, in order from top to bottom (be mindful not to have more than one QR code showing on the screen at any one time, the scanner may try to scan the wrong one, reduce your browser screen to only show one QR code then scroll to the next etc)
  • You will hear a beep sound every time the scan is successful
  • Once all QRs have been scanned, your scanner has been formatted it’s ready to build
