How to Divide a Gift Card balance across multiple cards

A customer can come in with their monetary voucher and want to split this across multiple cards. This is possible with our merchant app that can be access on merchant.loylap.com. The balance can be divided on to either a physical or digital gift card.

Digital Gift Card

Log into your account on merchant.loylap.com. The login details are the same as your business portal account. Once you have successfully logged in you will want to first reduce the balance of the existing card. You can do so by following the process we have documented here. 

This now means the original card has the new lower balance and we are in a position to be able to add the amount to the new Digital Gift Card. With this in mind you will need to know the recipient email address and name being used for the new Digital voucher. This should be provided by the customer looking to divide the existing voucher. Once you have this information then you can follow the process for a Digital Gift Card being sold here. 

Physical Gift Card

This will be the same as above, you'll want to start by logging into the Merchant Web App on merchant.loylap.com. The follow the process to redeem part of the balance that we have documented here.

Now you'll be in a position to add the divided amount onto a physical card. To do so then you'll need to have a card to hand to be able to apply the funds to. Once the card is acquired then follow the steps we have in this article and the new card will be registered and the balance available to use.
